A total of 1, 31, 376 students got the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) in the nine general education boards in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations-2024.
Among the GPA-5 holders, 58, 588 are male and 72, 778 are female, according to the results published here today.
Among the nine general education boards, Dhaka board secured top position with 48,558 students attaining maximum grade point average while Rajshahi board secured second position with 24,902 students earning GPA-5.
Dinajpur board managed to secure third position with 14,295 students getting GPA-5 followed by 10,269 in Chattogram, 9,749 in Jashore, 7,922 in Cumilla, 6,698 in Sylhet, 4,826 in Mymensingh and 4,167 in Barishal.
Meanwhile, in terms of pass rate Sylhet education board secured the top position with 85.38 percent pass rate in the examinations.
The pass rate of Barishal Board is 81.85, while it is 81.24 percent in Rajshahi, 79.21 percent in Dhaka, 77.56 percent in Dinajpur, 71.15 percent in Cumilla, 70.32 percent in Chattogram, 64.29 percent in Jashore, and 63.22 percent in Mymensingh.
A total of 11, 31,118 examinees appeared in the HSC examination this year under the nine general education boards. Of them, 8, 54, 644 students have been successful.
As per the education ministry’s decision, the students have been evaluated through the subject mapping method based on the SSC results for those subjects which exams did not take place due to the student-led mass upsurge.
