3 More Children Die with Measles Symptoms

Three more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 1,032 new cases of measles and its symptoms have been identified, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The DGHS regular measles situation report, published on Saturday (June 6), stated that over the past day, two children died with measles symptoms in the Dhaka division and one child in the Sylhet division. Consequently, the total number of deaths from measles and its symptoms nationwide has reached 613 since March 15.

According to the report, 117 new cases of measles were identified in the last 24 hours. Additionally, symptoms of the disease were observed in 915 more individuals. This brings the total number of confirmed measles cases to 9,620 and reported measles symptoms to 77,791 nationwide since March 15.

The DGHS further reported that a total of 63,134 individuals with measles and its symptoms have been admitted to hospitals from March 15 to Saturday. Of these, 58,964 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals after completing their treatment.
