5 died in Ijtema

Staff Correspondent: Five devotees died in separate incidents on Biswa Ijtema ground at Tongi in Gazipur early Friday and the day before.

Two of the deceased were identified as Janu Fakir, 70, of Tangail and Saheb Ali, 35, of Manikganj.

All of them died of old age complications and due to illness on Thursday morning and early Friday.

The namaj-e-janaza of Janu Fakir and Saheb Ali was held after Fazar prayers at the Ijtema venue.

Earlier, another devotee, Fazlul Hoque, 57, hailing from Mymensingh district, died at the Ijtema venue Thursday morning due to old age complications.

The first phase of Biswa Ijtema began on Friday morning on the bank of the Turag River at Tongi on the outskirts of the capital.
