The Directorate of Primary Education and all institutions under its purview have been instructed to promptly settle the land development tax for the current 2025-26 fiscal year, including any outstanding arrears.
An urgent letter issued by the directorate in this regard has directed all field-level offices to take the necessary measures.
The directive was issued through the letter signed by Selina Akhter, Assistant Director of the Finance and Revenue Division of the Directorate of Primary Education, on Wednesday (June 17).
The letter states that, in accordance with the directives from the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, ensuring the payment of land development tax (code-3821102) for all institutions under the directorate’s jurisdiction is mandatory.
It further specified that all field-level offices, including the Divisional Deputy Director’s Office, District Primary Education Offices, Primary Teacher Training Institutes (PTIs), Upazila and Thana Primary Education Offices, and government primary schools, must pay the outstanding arrears and the current year’s land development tax from their respective allocations for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
The Directorate of Primary Education emphasized that timely payment of land development tax is crucial for proper management of government assets and maintaining financial discipline. Therefore, all concerned parties have been directed to take swift and necessary actions.
