The color of the Bangladesh Police uniform has been changed once again. According to the new decision, police members will now wear light olive and khaki pants in metropolitan areas, in addition to the dark blue shirt.

A circular in this regard was issued from the Police Headquarters on Thursday (June 18). It was signed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Md. Ali Hossain Fakir.

As per the circular, police members in districts and other units will have dark blue shirts instead of the previous iron (gray) color. Additionally, all metropolitan police shirts will be light olive in color, and the pants for all police personnel will be khaki.

Changes have also been made to the uniforms of female police members. For female members of the District Police, Armed Police Battalion, Specialized Police Battalion, Special Branch, Criminal Investigation Department, and Rapid Action Battalion, dark blue sarees and dark blue blouses have been designated.

Furthermore, female members of the Metropolitan Police will wear dark blue sarees with light olive blouses. The circular also specifies that their head covers must be dark blue.

Previously, following the political changes of August 5, 2024, there was a demand for police uniform reform, and subsequently, a new iron-colored uniform was introduced. However, after feedback and review from various quarters, a new uniform combining dark blue and olive colors has now been determined.
