US President Donald Trump has claimed that the Iran war will end immediately after the US midterm elections, scheduled for early November.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday (September 9) local time, Trump stated that the US is not seeking any deal with Iran. However, he hinted that discussions with Tehran could resume.
Responding to reporters’ questions regarding Israel, Trump said he would speak with Israeli officials about recent restrictions on illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Regarding Iran’s nuclear program, the US President stated, ‘They only want a nuclear weapon. If they have a nuclear weapon, the entire world will be in danger.’
He added, ‘We will bring many more nuclear issues to the table that were not on the table three months ago.’
When asked about the possibility of resuming discussions with Tehran, Trump said, ‘Honestly, we don’t want that.’
He further stated, ‘We’ve gone a long way. There’s very little left in Iran now. Yes, discussions might be possible. This war will end immediately after our election.’
