On the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) procession, which commenced from Nayapaltan in the capital, has successfully reached Manik Mia Avenue. Prime Minister Tareque Rahman led the procession, personally walking approximately 7 kilometers.
Alongside the Prime Minister, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and other central and senior leaders of the party participated in the procession held on Saturday (November 7).
Prior to the procession, Tareque Rahman delivered a brief address in front of the BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan. The party’s acting secretary general, standing committee members, and other senior leaders were in attendance.
The procession, originating from Nayapaltan, culminated at Manik Mia Avenue, passing by the Chief Justice’s residence and Hotel InterContinental, and proceeding through Bangla Motor and Farmgate.
Earlier in the day, activists from BNP and its various front and associate organizations began gathering in Nayapaltan from different police stations and wards of the capital, as well as from surrounding districts and sub-districts, arriving with smaller processions to join the main event.
Participants were seen holding national and party flags, banners, festoons, and placards adorned with images of top party leaders. Nayapaltan and its adjacent areas resonated with enthusiastic slogans from the activists.
Beyond Dhaka, the BNP also organized processions in various districts and metropolitan cities across the country on Saturday. Further processions are scheduled to take place at the Upazila (sub-district) and Thana (police station) levels tomorrow, Sunday (November 8).
