EC starts dialogue with Sangskritik Muktijote leaders
The Election Commission has started its conversation with registered political parties through its first meeting with Bangladesh Sangskritik Muktijote.
The meeting opened around 3:00 pm at the conference room of Nirbachan Bhaban on Thursday with Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda in the chair, reports UNB.
A 12-member delegation of the Muktijote, led by its chief Abu Layes Munna, joined the dialogue with the EC.
During the talks with 40 registered political parties, the Commission will asking for opinions from the political parties over different issues, including electoral law reform and delimitation of constituencies, updating voter list, fixation of polling stations and awarding registration to new political parties.
Earlier, the Commission finished dialogues with civil society members on July 31, media representatives on August 16 and 17 as part of taking opinions of its different stakeholders over preparation of the 11th national election likely to be held in late December 2018.
