Muslim League proposes caretaker govt, army deployment in national election
Bangladesh Muslim League (BML) on Monday has placed its 11-point proposal to the Election Commission including formation of a caretaker government and army deployment for the next general elections.
The BML presented the proposals during a meeting with the election commission at the EC Secretariat on Monday morning as part of its ongoing dialogue with different stakeholders to take their opinions over its preparation for the next national elections.
After the meeting, Julfikar Bulbul Chowdhury, general secretary of BML, told reporters that his party demanded the power to be handed over to a caretaker government settling the parliament after declaration of the election schedule and deployment of army with magistracy power 30 days ahead of polls.
