Biman officials on 7-day remands
Staff Correspondent:A Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday granted seven-day remands for two suspended officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in a case filed overemergencylanding of a flight carrying prime minister to Hungary on November 27 this year.
Metropolitan Magistrate Jakir Hossain Tipu granted theremandsafter the investigation officer of Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police inspector Mahabub Alam sought 10-dayremandsfor interrogation.
Remanded two accused engineer Rokonuzzaman and technician Siddiqur Rahman on December 22 surrendered before the court and were sent to prison.
Other seven suspects Biman chief engineer Debesh Chowdhury, chief engineer (quality assurance) SS Siddique, principal engineer (system and maintenance) Billal Hossain, engineers Shamiul Haque, Niron Chandra Bishwas, Lutfar Rahman, and Zakir Hossain were also placed in seven-day remands on 22nd December.
