The cabinet division on Monday has formed a five-member committee led by an additional secretary to probe filing a defamation case against Barguna Sadar upazila nirbahi officer Gazi Tariq Salman over alleged alteration of a portrait of the country’s founding president of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
‘We have formed a five-member committee incorporating members from ministries of law, home and public administration, and Prime Minister’s Office to probe over filing of the case against UNO Tariq Salman,’ cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters at a briefing at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday.
The committee was asked to submit the report within 15 workdays, he said.
