Clear Message from Nahid Islam About Resignations

Nahid Islam, the convenor of the National Citizens Party (NCP), gave a clear message regarding the recent resignations of several party leaders.

He spoke about this at an urgent press conference on Sunday night at the party’s temporary office in Banglamotor, Dhaka.

Nahid Islam said that several leaders including senior joint secretary Tasnim Jara and joint convenor Tajnuba Jabin have resigned from the NCP, and there have been reports of a few others quitting as well. However, he emphasized that major party decisions are always made based on the majority’s opinion, and whether someone stays in the party or leaves is entirely a personal decision.

He expressed hope that everyone associated with the National Citizens Party will positively accept the decisions made by the party.

Regarding the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, Nahid Islam said the party had planned to participate on its own, but given the current political situation, that plan is no longer feasible.

He alleged that forces defeated in the mass uprising are involved in various conspiracies to suppress the July generation. In this context, he said the NCP has joined forces with the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and seven other allied parties — a coalition that will work together against domination, corruption, reform, and for justice.

He also mentioned that candidates’ names will be announced and nomination papers will be submitted on the same day.
