Munshiganj Correspondent: Ferry services on Shimulia-Kawrakandi route in the Padma river remained suspended from early hour of Friday night due to thick fog.
Chandra Shekhar, assistant manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Shimulia, said they suspended the ferry services around 3:30 am on Friday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
Seven ferries with a large number of vehicles and passengers on board lied motionless in the middle of the river.
Passengers suffered most as around 100 vehicles had to be kept waiting on both sides of the river.
