Derailment halts Dhaka rail link with Khulna, western region resume �

Sirajganj Correspondent: Train communication of Dhaka with Khulna and western region of the country remained snapped following the derailment of a freight train in Ullahpara station area early Saturday.

Sayeed Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police (GRP), Sirajganj Bazar, said a bogie of the freight train coming from Ishwardi derailed while entering the station around 3. 10 am, halting train movement on the route.

A rescue train from Pakshi of Ishwardi upazila rushed in to salvage the derailed bogie around 8.10am, said the OC.
