The blaze erupted at ‘Shikha Inn’, a residential hotel, around 1:45 AM on Tuesday night. Most of the hotel guests were asleep when the incident occurred.

Upon receiving the report, police and fire service personnel swiftly arrived at the scene and commenced rescue operations. Six injured individuals were rescued and subsequently transported to a local hospital.

Initial investigations suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit. It is believed that the fatalities and injuries resulted primarily from suffocation due to dense smoke filling various rooms of the hotel.
