Staff Reporter:The government wants to hold a farcical election like the one held on January 5, 2014, but it will not be easy for them to hold such an election this time, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today.
Fakhrul made the comment during a discussion at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Dhaka, jointly organized by Bangladesh Chhatra Forum and Uttaranchal Chhatra Forum, marking imprisonment day of BNP senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Pointing at the representation of the people order (RPO) of the Election Commission (EC), Fakhrul said a law that does not benefit people can never be considered as a law.
He said that the election is not the main issue for BNP, adding that the party hopes to ensure a democratic state system in the country.
