Gazipur road mishaps kill 7

Seven people, including three college students, were killed and nine others wounded in three separate road accidents in Gazipur on Monday.

Five people were killed as a human hauler hit a covered van on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Masterbari in the afternoon leaving four dead on the spot and another one died when he was taken to hospital.

The two deceased were identified and they are Sadia Afrin and Farzana Afrin Shikha, students of Iqbal Siddique College.

The wounded were admitted to Shahid Tajuddin Medical College Hospital where Sadia died.

In another incident, the driver’s assistant of a poultry-laden pick-up van Shah Alam died as the pick-up van hit an electric pole at Porabari of Gazipur at around 11:00am.

The driver of a car Arafat Hossain died after his car plunged into a roadside ditch at Surabari Bridge area at Kashimpur.
