News Desk: Google restricts Huawei's use of Android after Trump blacklist. Google has barred phone maker Huawei from some updates to the Android operating system, dealing a blow to the Chinese firm. New designs of Huawei smartphones will lose access to popular Google apps.
A Google spokesperson said the company is complying with the order and reviewing the implications without giving details.
Huawei will continue to have access to the version of the Android operating system available through the open source license, known as Android Open Source Project (AOSP), that is available for free to anyone who wishes to use it.
