Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has stated that the government is working to further improve and make more effective the medical services in hospitals at the district and upazila levels across the country.

He made this remark while speaking as the chief guest at a program organized on Saturday (July 11) to mark the 80th founding anniversary of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister arrived at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital campus to participate in the founding anniversary event. A festive atmosphere had been created in and around the campus since morning, anticipating his arrival. He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, a former student of Dhaka Medical College.

Around 9:30 AM, the Prime Minister’s motorcade crossed the Dhaka University area and set off towards Dhaka Medical. Upon reaching the Shaheed Minar area, activists from Dhaka University, Jagannath University, Dhaka College, Eden College, Titumir College, and the North and South Dhaka Metropolitan Chhatra Dal welcomed him with slogans and greetings, positioning themselves on both sides of the road.

As part of his itinerary, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for two girls’ hostels to be constructed under the Directorate General of Health Education’s ’20 Hostel Project’.
