I and my team believe that we can win against New Zealand

Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is confident about his team’s chances against a side that beat them 3-0 earlier when the Tigers toured New Zealand at the turn of the year. The match will begin at 3:45pm Bangladesh time.

But Bangladesh has since been on a successful tour of Sri Lanka, where they came away with a share of the Test, ODI and T20I series.

“I trust and my team believes that we can win against New Zealand. Those who are good are good in any condition,” Mashrafe said after the team’s practice at the Clontarf Cricket Club ground on Tuesday. “Of course the conditions matter, but we believe in our ability and the bowlers and the top order batsmen that we have, if they keep faith in their skills then something good can take place hopefully.”

As to the beginning eleven for tomorrow’s game, Mashrafe said that although the management have not discussed it yet, there are unlikely to be many changes apart from him coming back into the team after having missed the first game due to a one-match suspension he picked up in the last ODI in Sri Lanka for slow over rate.
