Entertainment Desk:Mahesh Bhatt got death threat from an unidentified caller on Wednesday who claimed a sum of Rs 50 lakh to be deposited in a Lucknow-based bank branch. The caller also claimed to harm his daughter Alia Bhatt and wife Soni Razdan if his demand was not fulfilled. The police immediately swung into action and an arrest was made with regard to the case on Thursday.
Now, Alia has finally broken her silence on the subject. When the actress was probed on the matter at a promotional event of 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania', she revealed that with her father by her side, she has nothing to fear.
"I think my dad and the police force are very brave as it is because of them that I didn't feel unsafe at all. They just took over. I feel everything has been sorted now and everyone is okay. With dad by my side, I have nothing to worry about," she said.
Mahesh Bhatt filed a case on Wednesday under section 387 (causing a person to fear death or grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion) after receiving these death threats. On Thursday, the Anti Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Police with help of UP STF arrested Sandeep Sahu as a suspect in the case. The UP Police interrogated the suspect who was traced by the anti-extortion cell of Mumbai crime branch.
