2 month tour of BNP chairperson
Khaleda Zia arrives in London
Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia arrived in London on Sunday noon.
Her son Tarique Rahman, also BNP senior vice-chairman, cordially received Khaleda Zia at Heathrow international airport in London, BNP chairperson's press wing member Shamsuddin Dider told reporters.
The flight that carried Khaleda touched the airport around 12:30pm Bangladesh time, Dider said.
Many leaders and activists of BNP UK chapter welcomed Khaleda Zia at the airport, he said.
Later, Tarique drove her mother to his residence.
Tarique has been staying in the United Kingdom since September 2008 for his 'medical treatment'.
Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for London in a flight of Emirates on Saturday evening for treatment of her eye and knee.
