Light to moderate rain likely over country

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places north and central regions and at a few places over south, south-east and north-east regions including the capital.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions”, said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am today.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded by 34.8 degree celsius at Sitakunda and minimum temperature today was recorded by 23.2 degree celsius at Tetulia. Country’s maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded by 179 millimeters (mm) Sayedpur.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is active over Northern part & fairly active elsewhere over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
