Roadmap would not resolve crisis over political crisis

16 Jul, 2017 20:01:00

Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday said 'roadmap' unveiled by the Election Commission would not resolve the present 'political crisis' over election-time government.

The BNP secretary general came up with the immediate reaction to action plan for next parliamentary election declared by Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda on Sunday.

Talking to journalists at BNP central office, Fakhrul said an 'election-conducive' government is necessary for holding a free, fair and neutral government.

Discussion is very essential at this moment for forming the 'election-conducive' government, he said.

The crisis would not be resolved through revealing election 'roadmap' without discussing about the poll-time government, he observed.

He, however, said there must be a 'way to election'.

'Still now we cannot see the way. So the question of a roadmap comes later, ' Fakhrul said.
