Obaidul Quader, Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridges minster, on Wednesday claimed that Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders are attempting to persuade people to create political unrests over the issue of the verdict of the cancelling 16th amendment of the constitution.

Quader said that BNP is responsible for making confrontations in the politics on the issue of verdict.

‘Some people of BNP are trying to create political crisis, to create scope for the unconstitutional rule in the country again but there is no scope of repetition of unconstitutional rule like January  11, 2007,’’ Quader said.

While addressing at a discussion conference to mark the mourning day at National Sports Council auditorium, organized by Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu-Kishore Parishad, Quader said the dreams of BNP would not be completed and the unrests on the verdict issue would be resolved soon.

Mentioning the issue of the of the BNP press conference, over the verdict declared by Supreme Court, Qader said that BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Moudud Ahmed, gave self-contradictory statements on the verdict.

They are glad after the verdict of the 16th amendment, but were unhappy after the verdict of the case regarding ownership of a house in Gulshan, of Moudud, Quader said.
