Prime Minister Tareq Rahman has urged students to keep their homes, educational institutions, and surrounding environments clean to prevent dengue. He also advised them to engage in regular sports alongside their studies and to be caring towards animals and wildlife.
The Prime Minister made these remarks on Tuesday (September 8) around 5:30 PM, during a meeting with students of Kalmakanda Girls’ High School from Netrokona, held in front of the Prime Minister’s Office at the National Parliament Building.
Addressing the students, the Prime Minister said, “To prevent dengue, each one of us must be aware. We must ensure that water does not accumulate anywhere in our homes and surroundings. Maintaining regular cleanliness can largely prevent the spread of dengue.”
Calling for the habit of cleanliness to start from one’s own family, the Prime Minister added, “You yourselves should stay clean and also make your family members, friends, and neighbors aware. Your small initiatives will help build a clean and healthy society.”
During the meeting, the Prime Minister inquired about the students’ studies. He spoke warmly with them about their grades, how they were studying, and what they aspired to be in the future.
Emphasizing the importance of sports for physical and mental development alongside studies, the Prime Minister stated, “It’s not enough to just focus on textbooks; to grow up healthy and gracefully, one must engage in regular sports and physical exercise. You must use your time wisely and develop yourselves into good individuals.”
Urging empathy towards animals and wildlife alongside humans, Prime Minister Tareq Rahman said, “We must also be caring towards the helpless and voiceless animals around us. No animal should be treated cruelly. Compassion and responsibility towards living creatures are hallmarks of a humane society.”
Forty-two students from grades six to ten came to the Parliament Building today to observe the session of the National Parliament. They were accompanied by five school teachers and two members of the managing committee. During their observation of the parliamentary session, they got the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister.
The students expressed immense joy and excitement at the opportunity to speak directly with the Prime Minister. They showed eagerness to follow the Prime Minister’s advice in their own lives and to disseminate it among their families, schools, and local communities.
