Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met with the family members of two soldiers who were martyred in a shell explosion during tank firing at the Hathazari Field Firing Range in Chattogram. During the meeting, he handed over cheques for financial assistance to the families and assured them that both the government and the army would always stand by their side.
The meeting took place on Tuesday morning, September 15, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon. The Prime Minister spoke with the family members and extended his deepest condolences to them. His wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, along with Army Chief General Wakar-uz-Zaman and other senior army officials, were present during the occasion.
The Prime Minister stated that the nation would remember with profound respect the sacrifice of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty for the country. Addressing the bereaved families, he assured them that the government and the army would remain by their side, providing all necessary support and taking responsibility for their welfare.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister handed over financial assistance cheques to the families of the two martyred soldiers. Furthermore, the army announced initiatives including the construction of a house for each family at their permanent address, employment arrangements for the wives, and monthly allowances for the children.
Soldier (Operator) Abu Bakar Siddique and Soldier (Gunner) Md. Tasnim Rifat were martyred in a shell explosion during tank firing at the Hathazari Field Firing Range on September 9.
Among those present at the meeting were Abu Bakar Siddique’s wife Suraiya Akter Juti, daughter Fatima Siddika, father Abdul Wahab, and mother Parveen Akter. Representing Md. Tasnim Rifat were his wife Mosa. Fahmida Afrin, daughter Rafsa Tasnim Ifra, and father Md. Asadul Haque.
