Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Friday referred the Election Commission's fresh move on EVM as an ill-motive, which came after recent comments of the prime minister's son in favour of introducing the electronic voting machine.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a news briefing at the party's central office said chief election commissioner KM Nurul Huda on Thursday said the EVM would be used in 11th parliamentary election if all political parties want so.

He reminded that two days ago prime minister Sheikh Hasina's son had stated that EVM would be used in next parliamentary polls.

The CEC's statement made echoed it, Rizvi said, adding that the popularity of the ruling party declined to zero level, prompting the prime minister's so came up resurfaced the idea of voting manipulation through EVM.
