Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Prime Minister's ICT Adviser, has said Bangladesh is better prepared than its 'far wealthier' neighbors to combat the ravages of man and nature as it has one of the world's most comprehensive programmes to deal with climate change and natural climates.

"In fact, Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable nations in the world to the combined effects of climate change and natural disasters. But it also now has one of the world's most comprehensive programs to deal with them," Joy wrote in an article published in The Diplomat on July 24.

The Diplomat is an online international news magazine covering politics, society, and culture in the Asia-Pacific region.

Joy, also the prime minister's son, added: "Bangladesh is better prepared than its far wealthier neighbors to withstand the ravages of man and nature thanks to focus and determination."

He wrote that Bangladesh has gone to great lengths to protect its people and their property from natural disasters as the country has made real strides in reducing its exposure to catastrophes.
