Tigers clinched a historic win against Australia in the 1st test in two Test series as Australia lost 10 wickets for 244 runs after lunch on day four of the first Test at Sher-e Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
Chasing 265, Australia collapsed from 158-2 to 244 all out, with Shakib Al Hasan taking 5-85 and Taijul Islam 3-60.
They earlier dismissed the hosts for 221.
Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan has given Bangladesh a crucial breakthroughs by taking out centurion David Warner (112) and Steve Smith (37) in quick succession to raise Bangladesh hopes on the fourth day of the Mirpur Test.
Resuming on an overnight total of 109 for 2, Warner struck his 19th Test century on morning of the penultimate day, giving Australia a strong foundation to build on a viciously turning track.
Shakib, world’s best alrounder in 3 formats of cricket, picked up five wickets conceding 85 runs, to go with five more in the Australian 1st innings as well as a fifty with the bat, ensuring the man-of-the-match award in his 50th appearance in whites for Bangladesh. Taijul and Miraj supported him admirably, bagging three and two wickets respectively.
