US-Bangla pilot Abid Sultan’s wife suffers brain stroke
A week after US-Bangla Airlines pilot Captain Abid Sultan lost his life in plane crash at Nepal airport, his wife suffered from a brain stroke this morning.
Afsana Khanam suffered the stroke at her Uttara residence around 4:00am, according to her relatives.
She was admitted to the National Institute of Neuroscience and Hospital at Agargaon in Dhaka where doctors conducted a surgery on her at 7:00am, the relatives said.
Pilot Abid Sultan of the US-Bangla flight and all four cabin crew members died in the crash on March 12 that claimed the lives of 51 people.
On that day, flight BS211 took off from Dhaka around 12:51pm with 32 Bangladeshis, 33 Nepalese, and one each from the Maldives and China. It was scheduled to land at Tribhuvan at 2:20pm [BST].
