Brazilian doctor Rodrigo Lasmar provided an interesting update about the left-back Marcelo as he said that the hotel mattress used by Marcelo caused the back injury that forced him out of the game against Serbia.
Brazilian left-back Marcelo was forced off in the 10th minute of the game against Serbia due to suffering from back-spasm.He was replaced by Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis. Brazil secured a safe passage to the last-16 as they topped Group E after beating Serbia 2-0 in their final group stage game.
After the game, updates on Marcelo’s health were provided by Brazilian doctor Lasmar. In an eye-catching comment, Lasmar has blamed Marcelo’s injury on his Russian bed, as reported by 101 great goals.
“Marcelo’s injury may have been caused by the mattress at the hotel where we were staying in Moscow.
“It is still early to talk about the evolution of this problem. He has responded very well to the physiotherapy treatment that we carried out in the stadium, but we have to wait 24 hours to make a better diagnosis.”Lasmar said.
Marcelo however is optimistic that he will be able to start Brazil’s next game against Mexico on Monday as he posted positive message for the fans on social media.
