Aloe Vera: With alkalizing properties that reinstate the natural pH levels of your scalp, aloe vera is your go-to for healthier hair. The enzymes present in it, are known to penetrate your scalp to increase hair growth, while nourishing your mane thoroughly. Just cut open an aloe vera leaf, scoop up the gel, and apply it directly onto your washed scalp. Massage aloe vera gel in circular motions and rinse it off in an hour.


Beetroot: Known to be a great source of potassium, vitamin B, vitamin C, phosphorous and protein, beetroot is very effective in promoting the growth of your hair. The best way to consume this is in the form of a juice. Just boil a few beetroot leaves in water and reduce the concoction to a semi-thick paste. Add some henna and thicken the paste. Apply it directly onto your scalp and rinse it off in 30 minutes.



Coconut Milk: Filled to the brim with healthy fats, minerals and proteins, coconut milk not only reduces hairfall, but also conditions your hair, making it smoother and healthier. Apply a cup of fresh coconut milk onto your scalp and hair, and keep it on for 30 minutes. Rinse the milk off your hair with cold water and follow it with a shampoo wash to gain maximum benefits.


Egg White: Packed with proteins and vitamins, egg whites are known to promote hair nourishment and reduce the problem of thinning hair. Create a homemade mask with two whisked egg whites and apply them to your scalp and hair in an even fashion. After half an hour, wash it off with cold water and a mild shampoo.


Onions: Onions are known to have a high content of sulphur, which promotes blood circulation to the hair follicles, thus boosting hair growth. But that’s not all. It even has antibacterial properties, which makes it a great ally in the fight against scalp infections. Just grate an onion into a bowl and strain the juice out. Apply it directly onto your scalp with a cotton ball, and leave it on for 30 minutes. Fenugreek: More commonly known as methi in India, fenugreek is a great source of lecithin, which is a compound that is especially effective in strengthening and moisturising hair. To use it at home for your hair, soak a cup of fenugreek seeds in water for the whole night and blend it to form a paste. Apply some coconut oil to your strands, and then apply the paste on. Rinse with water after about an hour and wash off with shampoo and conditioner. Repeating this thrice a week will ensure you see visible results presently.

Henna: Though henna is usually used as a natural hair colour, it has also got some amazing strengthening properties. Just mix 60g of dried henna leave with 250ml mustard oil and boil the mixture. Filter the oil and massage on to your scalp regularly for gorgeous, healthy hair.

Olive oil: Mix two tablespoons of olive oil with two tablespoons of honey, and mix it well with some cinnamon powder to make a smooth paste. Leave this mixture on to your scalp for 15-20 minutes to help sooth your hair and boost hair growth.
