Staff Reporter:Students of Home Economics College staged demonstrations on Azimpur Road, disrupting vehicular movement for three hours on Saturday to press home their various demands, including the one for declaring the college as an institute of Dhaka University.
A group of students took to the street in front of their college in Azimpur around 12pm and staged demonstrations after blocking the road, UNB quoted assistant commissioner (Lalbagh zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Salahuddin.
Vehicular movement on the road from Nilkhet to Azimpur stopped due to the blockade.
Later, traffic movements came back to normalcy around 3pm after police interfered into the matter, said AC Salahuddin.
Their other demands included going up transport and library facilities, sources at the college campus said.
