A Dhaka court on Sunday granted bail to BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman’s mother-in-law Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu in two separate cases filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court granted the bail.
Earliar in the day, Banu was brought before the court and sought the bail.
ACC’s lawyer Mir Ahmed Ali said the court considered her bail due to her illness and for being elderly.
Earliar April 12, ACC issued arrest warrant against Tarique’s mother-in-law and ordered Tarique’s wife Jobaida Rahman to surrender before court.
In September 26, 2007, the ACC filed two individual cases against Tarique’s mother-in-law and his wife for keeping information hidden about their wealth and Tk 4,81,53,561.
