Terrorists have no boundary, they have no religion
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said, Terrorists have no boundary, they have no religion and they're simply terrorists.”
Repeating that terrorists have no boundary and religion, the premier also emphasized the need for stopping the sources of terror financing and arms supply.
She made this remark while Commander of US Pacific Command Harry B Harris Junior met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Dhaka Cantonment office, reports UNB.
After the meeting, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters.
He said the Prime Minister laid emphasis on sharing information on terrorist and militant activities between Dhaka and Washington.
Hasina also put importance on stopping the sources of money and arms first. The Commander of US Pacific Command agreed with her on the issue.
The government has involved the imams of mosques, teachers, guardians and civil society members in creating mass awareness against militancy and is getting positive response from them, she said.
The Prime minister also mentioned that common people are giving information to law enforcers about terrorists and militants.
Hasina said the people of all religions are living here in Bangladesh with harmony and everybody is performing their religious rituals freely.
Harry B Harris briefed the Prime Minister about terrorist and militant activities across the world and offered training to law enforcement agencies of Bangladesh in his regard.
Describing the ties of state-to-state and defence force-to-defence force between Bangladesh and USA is very excellent, the US Commander highly praised the role of Bangladeshi peacekeeping forces in UN missions.
He also showed interest in cooperation between the defence forces of Bangladesh and the USA.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Military Secretary Major General Major Gen Mia Md Jainul Abedin were present.
