BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has passed away (Innalillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). He died today Tuesday (December 30) at 6 am while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
This information was informed in a message sent from the BNP Chairperson’s press wing. It is said in the message that Begum Khaleda Zia’s death was confirmed by her personal physician and member of the National Standing Committee of BNP, Professor Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain.
According to the press wing, Begum Khaleda Zia’s eldest son and acting chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman, his wife Dr. were present at the hospital at the time of death. Zubaida Rahman, granddaughter Zaima Rahman, younger son’s wife Shamila Rahman Sinthi, younger brother Shamim Iskandar and his wife, elder sister Selina Islam and other family members. Apart from this, the member doctors of the medical board formed for the treatment of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Khaleda Zia were also present there.
Notably, Begum Khaleda Zia was undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital since November 23 due to serious illness.
