United Nations condolence message on death of Khaleda Zia

The United Nations has expressed deep grief over the death of Bangladesh’s first woman prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

On Tuesday (December 30), the United Nations Bangladesh official Facebook page said in a post, ‘The United Nations is deeply saddened by the death of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.’

The post also said, ‘The United Nations expresses its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the former Prime Minister at this sad moment. At the same time reiterating its solidarity with the government and people of Bangladesh.’

Meanwhile, the European Union also expressed deep grief over the death of Khaleda Zia. A post on the official Facebook page of the European Union Bangladesh said, “We express our deepest condolences to the people of Bangladesh on the death of Khaleda Zia.”

Note, Khaleda Zia breathed her last on Tuesday (December 30) at 6 am Bangladesh time while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
