What Shakib Al Hasan said on Khaleda Zia’s death

National cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan has expressed his deepest condolences to the family of former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Saqib wrote on social media Facebook: “Bangladesh former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia passed away today at six in the morning. Inna lillahi wa inna ilahi rajiun.

My deepest condolences to his family and relatives in this moment of grief. He has done important work and contribution for the country in his long political career. May Allah bless his soul. I am asking everyone to pray for him.”

Notably, Begum Khaleda Zia breathed her last on Tuesday (December 30) at 6 am while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital. He was 80 years old at the time of his death.

Different political leaders and dignitaries of the country have expressed deep grief over his death. The government has declared three days of state mourning from December 31 to January 2 and December 31 will be a general holiday across the country. During this time, flags will be at half-mast in all government and semi-government institutions.

Begum Khaleda Zia’s Janaza will be held tomorrow Wednesday at the South Plaza of the Johor National Parliament, and after the Janaza, her body will be buried with state honors next to the tomb of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.
