Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim on Thursday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given approval of a decision of recruiting at least 10,000 doctors through a special BCS examination.
Nasim said, “A move is going on to hold a special BCS test to recruit 10,000 doctors and health workers in the vacant posts to spread the healthcare services across the country.”
Referring various steps of the government to improve healthcare services, the minister said the government has terminated some doctors from their service on charges of negligence of duty as well as their alleged involvement in corrupt practices.
“In line with the Prime Minister's directive, we go for tougher action against those physicians and health workers who ignored to perform their respective duties in rural and remote areas across the country,” said Nasim.
