Chuadanga Correspondent:At least 13 workers were killed and nine others were wounded as a speedy truck hit a human hauler in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga on Sunday morning, police said.
The deceased were identified as Shanto, 23, Hafizur, 34, Shafiqul, 25 and Aram Ali, 39, and Belal Hossain, 17, Jaz Mia, 32, Rafiqul, 45, Lal Mohammad, 45, Abdar Ali, 45, Billal Uddin, 42, Abu Bakkar, 55, Hujjat Ali alias Nandi, 50, Nazir Hossain, 60.
Jaz Mia was the driver of the human hauler while the rest were passengers of the vehicle. All the victims were residents of Baro Baldia village of the upazila, said Abu Jihad Md Fakhrul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Police Station.
The accident occurred when the truck hit a human hauler coming from the opposite direction on Chuadanga-Darshana road in Joyrumpur village around 7:45am, OC Jihad told our Kushtia correspondent.
