Customs intelligence seized 40 gold bars weighing 4.66 kilogrammes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early Wednesday.
The gold bars were seized from a seat cover of Arab Emirates flights.
Director General of Customs Intelligence Moinul Khan cleared the matter.
Acting on a tip-off, the intelligence officials conducted the raid after the flight landed at the airport at 12am and rescued the gold bars from seat number 37J of economy class of the flight.
The current market price of the gold is Tk 2.33 crore. None was held in this regard.
