4 militants held in Rajshahi

Police in a raid detained four suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Durgapur and Puthia upazilas of Rajshahi early Friday.

 

The detainees were identified as Aslam, 37, son of Isa Ali, Mohamamd Ali, 30, son of Khodabax, Babu, 28, son of Joad Ali of Joykrishnapur village in Durgapur upazila and Abul Kashem Rokon, 38, son of Abdul Hamid of Dhadash village in Puthia upazila, reports UNB.

 

Sumit Chowdhury, Additional Superintendent of Rajshahi Special Branch Police, said a team of police conducted an anti-militant drive in the two upazilas of the districts and arrested them along with some sharp weapons and Jihadi books.

 

A case was filed in this connection.
