4 missing as boat sinks in Padma river

Four people went missing as a boat sank in the Padma River in Dargapara area of the Rajshahi city on Sunday evening during a storm, UNB reports.

 Three of the missing people are—Sarwer Hossain Rafiq, 45, Robin, 28, Asadul, 45.

 Shahdat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station, said the boat carrying six passengers capsized in the river around 7:00 am as a nor’wester lashed the district around 7:00 pm.

 Two passengers swam shore while four others went missing.

 Divers of fire service started rescue functions on Monday morning, added the OC.
