50 maunds jatka seized in Barisal
Barisal Correspondent: Some members of Bangladesh Coast Guard in a drive seized 50 maunds of jatka (hilsa fry) from two trawlers in Kirtonkhola river in the city's Beltala Kheyaghat area on Friday morning.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of coast guards halted two trawlers and seized the jatka searching the trawlers, said Zila fisheries officer Kumar Pal.
However, nobody was not arrested in this connection.
The seized jatka was distributed among poor people and different madrasas and orphanages in the district.
