6 held over SSC question paper leak

Staff Correspondent:Members of detective branch on Tuesday arrested six students in connection with the question paper leak in the ongoing SSC examinations.

The arrestees are Md Raju Ahmed, Md Foysalur Rahman alias Akash, Md Juhair Ayaz, Mohiuddin Imon, Shadhin Al Mahmud and Rashidul Islam alias Rony and students of different polytechnic institutes.

They were arrested from different areas of the capital on February 12, Joint Commissioner of Detective Branch of police Abdul Baten said at a press briefing at DMP Media Centre.

The DB team also seized two laptops, three CPUs, three routers, 12 mobile phone sets and 12 SIM cards from their possession, the joint commissioner said.

The arrestees were admins of various Facebook groups such as All Board Examinee, SSC Question 2017 Dhaka Board and SSC Question 2017 Barisal Board, the police official said.

They distributed bogus question papers via messenger group on Facebook using fake IDs and on messaging site Whatsapp. Each question paper was sold between Tk 500 to Tk 25,000.

A case has been filed against them at Kalabagan Police Station.
