The price of bottled soybean oil in the country’s market has been increased by BDT 5 per liter, setting a new price. From now on, each liter of bottled soybean oil will be sold at BDT 204. However, the price of palm oil remains unchanged.
This decision to adjust prices was made at a meeting held on Wednesday (September 2) at the Ministry of Commerce with edible oil traders. Following discussions on the international market situation of edible oils, import costs, and existing prices in the domestic market, the decision was taken to increase the price of soybean oil.
According to the new decision, one liter of bottled soybean oil, which was previously sold at BDT 199, will now cost BDT 204. This means consumers will have to pay BDT 5 more per liter than before.
Previously, on April 26 this year, the price of soybean oil was increased by BDT 4 per liter. At that time, the price of one liter of bottled soybean oil was raised from BDT 195 to BDT 199.
As a result of this latest price hike, the price of bottled soybean oil has cumulatively increased by BDT 9 per liter within a few months. On the other hand, no change has been made to the price of palm oil.
