BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed that fuel prices in Bangladesh are significantly lower compared to other countries. He made this assertion during a briefing on Monday afternoon.
Rizvi stated that the war in the Middle East has created an energy crisis. He also mentioned that the government is sincerely working to tackle this crisis.
He said, ‘Fuel prices in Bangladesh are much lower compared to other countries in the world. We are providing subsidies on fuel. Even after price adjustments, we are incurring losses.’
At this time, Rizvi presented data on current fuel prices in various countries and reiterated, ‘The government is sincerely trying to resolve the energy crisis.’
Regarding the opposition’s long march, he remarked that the language used against the government, instead of discussing how to supply fuel at lower prices, is undesirable. He also warned that BNP would not sit idle if a one-point ultimatum was issued.
Meanwhile, Rizvi claimed that incidents of bus fires and cocktail explosions in the capital and various districts across the country are planned activities aimed at destabilizing the country. He alleged that there is also a conspiracy to divert social development programs and public welfare initiatives.
