Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has detained chief executive officer of Citycell Mehboob Chowdhury for allegedly embezzling over Tk 383 crore from a bank between 2011 and 2015.
Mehboob was held in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday afternoon, according to ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.
Mehboob Chowdhury faces charges of embezzling about Tk 3.5 billion in bank loans taken from eight banks and financial institutions for Citycell.
The ACC lodged the case with Banani Police Station on Jun 28.
