Sports Correspondent:Bangladeshi archers bagged six out of nine gold medals in the 1st ISSF International Solidarity Archery Championship which concluded at Maulana Bhashani National Stadium on Monday.
Hera Moni clinched gold medal in the Recurve Individual Women event outplaying Ramozamova Yaylagul of Azerbaijan by 6-4 sets.
Bangladesh clinched the Recurve Women Team event title defeating Nepal by 6-2 sets. Shamoli Ray, Beauty Ray and Radia Akther Shapla played for Bangladesh while Gyanu Awale, Krishna Maya Syangtan and Aisha Tamang for Nepal.
To secure gold medal in the Recurve Men Team event, Ruman Shana, Sanwar Hossain and Tamimul Islam played for Bangladesh to secure a 6-2 set victory against Bhutan team comprising of Kinley Tshering, Lam Dorji and Nima Wangdi.
In the Compound Men Team event, Bangladesh scored 214 against Malaysianï¿½s score of 207 to bag the 4th gold.
Abul Kashem, Najmul Huda and Milon Molla featured for Bangladesh while Firdous Bin Isa, NADBM Kamarolzaman and AHB Abdul Azaz played for Malaysia.
Bangladesh team (Roman Shana and Shamoli Ray) bagged gold in the Recurve Mix Team event beating Bhutan team (Kinley Tshering and Karma) by 6-2 sets.
In the Compound Mix Team event, Bangladesh team (Abul Abul Kashem and Sushmita Banik) scored 149 against Iraq teamï¿½s (Al-Dhagman Eshaq and Fatimah Al Mashadani) 141 to bag gold medal.
Fares Alotaibi of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) clinched gold in the Recurve Individual Men event. Firdous Bin Isa of Malaysia bagged gold in the Compound Individual Men event while Iraqi archer Fatimah Al Mashadani secured gold in the Compound Individual Women event.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
